Steve Ajzenman

Founder

Steve is a seasoned physiotherapist with over two decades of experience. His unwavering dedication to using Pilates as a primary tool for rehabilitation and performance enhancement sets him apart. Whether it's aiding clients in recovering from back pain, helping individuals boost their running prowess, or simply getting people back on their feet and moving, Steve relies on the power of Pilates.

His journey with Pilates began with a vision to encourage more people to lead active lives. Steve founded "&Pilates" to inspire individuals to embrace movement as a way of life.

Steve firmly believes in the profound connection between the mind and body. He ensures that each of his classes concludes with a mindful session, recognising that a harmonious mind plays a pivotal role in achieving a healthy body.

When asked about his motivation for pursuing Pilates, Steve says, "I got into Pilates to empower people to move better, without the need for hands-on treatment."

Steve derives immense satisfaction from instructing Pilates. Witnessing his clients achieve their physical and wellness aspirations and surpassing their perceived limits is what fuels his passion.

Steve has a penchant for savoring authentic Italian pizza outside the studio, specifically the Neapolitan style, which he enjoys at the 48h in Elsternwick. As for his choice of refreshments, Steve finds solace in any rooftop bar within the city.

Puglia, Italy, holds a special place in Steve's heart, making it his favorite holiday destination. The allure of this picturesque region captivates him time and again.

In the eternal debate of cat versus dog, Steve proudly declares himself a cat person, appreciating their independent nature over the perceived neediness of dogs.

One thing that doesn't sit well with Steve is bad manners, as he values politeness and respect.

When asked to choose between a beach and a forest, Steve opts for both—a beach nestled next to a forest, combining his love for hiking and leisurely beach days.

Steve's drink of choice is a soothing almond latte, a testament to his appreciation for coffee culture. He encourages others not to judge his preference.

As for holidays, Steve enjoys a blend of relaxation and activity. He relishes both hiking adventures and tranquil poolside lounging. Balancing these activities can be a challenge, especially with his three kids in tow.

A lesser-known fact about Steve is his penchant for collecting keyrings, with his collection boasting over 200 unique pieces. It's a hobby that reflects his passion for gathering and cherishing memories in unexpected ways.

    Nariman Sraieldin

    Pilates Teacher

Nariman embarked on her Pilates journey back in 2002, driven by the need to address the occasional discomfort stemming from a lifelong commitment to demanding physical activities and fitness. The transformative effects of Pilates on both her body and mind left her awestruck. This newfound passion compelled her to delve deeper into the world of Pilates, culminating in her completion of a Diploma in Pilates Movement Therapy and becoming an Allied Health Assistant specialising in physiotherapy, particularly in the realm of rehabilitation and sports-related injuries.

Over the course of 12 years, Nariman has honed her skills by working with a diverse clientele, ranging from pre/postnatal individuals to athletes, and those recovering from injuries.

Nariman's dedication to her craft extends beyond the studio. She finds solace and exhilaration in the great outdoors, indulging in activities like hiking and running. Her family holds a special place in her heart, and she cherishes spending quality time with them.

When asked about her passion for Pilates and instructing, Nariman enthusiastically shares, "I'm deeply drawn to the positive energy and the sense of fulfilment I derive from teaching Pilates classes. Witnessing the remarkable positive changes in individuals' lives through Pilates is truly rewarding."

The Gold Coast stands out as Nariman's preferred holiday destination, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.

In the age-old debate of dog versus cat, Nariman takes a neutral stance, opting for neither.

Slow drivers are a pet peeve of Nariman's, as she values efficiency and promptness on the road.

Given the choice between the beach and the forest, Nariman leans towards the beach, revelling in the tranquil allure of the shoreline.

Coffee is Nariman's beverage of choice, and she appreciates a good cup of coffee.

When it comes to holidays, Nariman's ideal escape involves unwinding on a beachside, embracing the serenity it offers.

Intriguingly, Nariman has a few hidden facets. She has completed an impressive six marathons, lived on three different continents, and possesses proficiency in more than one language, underscoring her diverse and multifaceted life experiences.

      Alex Williams

      Pilates Teacher

Alexandra is a dedicated Pilates and movement teacher who discovered her passion for Pilates approximately 14 years ago. Her journey into Pilates began when she sought an exercise regimen with a more holistic approach, recognising that high-impact options were no longer as suitable for her body.

Upon delving into Pilates, Alexandra realised that it resonated not only with her body but also with her mind. In 2015, she decided to take her commitment to the next level by becoming a certified Mat teacher, commencing her teaching journey that same year. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a reformer and equipment certification in 2016, followed by a barre certification in 2019. Throughout her career, Alex has taught in various settings, including Pilates and yoga studios, physio clinics, fitness centres, and private sessions. She is deeply passionate about teaching mat, barre, and reformer, appreciating how they cater to diverse preferences and abilities.

Alexandra's teaching style is a fusion of traditional and classical Pilates exercises, combined with her penchant for exploring movement, often adding contemporary elements to her classes, all set to vibrant beats. She firmly believes that Pilates is for everyone, emphasising that it goes beyond mere exercise and helps people discover the small changes that yield significant improvements in their daily lives and functionality.

What drives Alex in her teaching is her desire to help people feel strong, capable, functional, confident, and simply good. Her qualifications include a 200-hour Mat Pilates Certification, Barre Instructor Certification, Fitness Pilates Reformer Certification, and a 60-hour Yin Yoga certification.

Beyond her role as a Pilates and movement teacher, Alexandra is a low-tox enthusiast and a creative soul. She wears the hat of a loving mother to two bold and beautiful young boys, finding her release and joy in dancing.

When asked why she got into Pilates, Alex shares, "I loved how Pilates made me feel and how it benefited my body and mind. I wanted a job that I was passionate about and felt had a real purpose in helping others."

Alex's love for Pilates and instructing stems from its accessibility, the positive energy it generates, and the sense of accomplishment it brings to both her as a teacher and her students. She takes pride in helping people overcome challenges and achieve their fitness goals, all while fostering a sense of overall well-being.

For her favourite place to eat and drink, Alex mentions two favourites: 38 South in Seaford, known for its linguine Marinara, and Tres Mexican in Seaford, where she enjoys a spicy margarita.

In terms of holiday destinations, Alex yearns to return to Vietnam, a place that has left a lasting impression on her.

When it comes to pets, Alex is a dog person, finding cats a bit too aloof for her liking.

Lack of good basic customer service and a lack of consideration for others are two things that annoy Alex in today's world.

The eternal debate between the beach and the forest depends on her mood, but the beach often wins out.

Coffee is her beverage of choice, with a mocha made with tiger nut milk as her go-to.

Regarding holidays, Alex admits she has never truly experienced a relaxing one. She's drawn to exploration and adventure, even on vacation.

In a lesser-known fact, Alex hails from a large family and has an impressive 10 siblings.
